1. Sims 2018 Pediatrics
- 题录:Sims A, Chounthirath T, Yang J, Hodges NL, Smith GA (2018). Infant Walker-Related Injuries in the United States. Pediatrics, 142(4), e20174332。PMID 30224365,https://doi.org/10.1542/peds.2017-4332。作者、卷期经 Europe PMC REST(resultType=core)核对,摘要从同一接口取得。
- 约 23 万:「An estimated 230 676 children <15 months old were treated for infant walker-related injuries in US emergency departments from 1990 to 2014.」
- 头颈与楼梯:「Most of the children sustained head or neck injuries (90.6%) and 74.1% were injured by falling down the stairs in an infant walker.」
- 住院与颅骨骨折:「Among patients who were admitted to the hospital (4.5%), 37.8% had a skull fracture.」
- 强制标准之后:「The average annual number of injuries decreased by 22.7% (P = .019) during the 4-year period after the implementation of the federal mandatory safety standard compared with the 4-year period before the standard.」标准实施年份见结论「the federal mandatory safety standard in 2010」。
- 仍可避免:「Despite the decline in injuries, infant walkers remain an important and preventable source of injury among young children, which supports the American Academy of Pediatrics' call for a ban on their manufacture and sale in the United States.」
American Academy of Pediatrics, Committee on Injury and Poison Prevention (2001). Injuries associated with infant walkers. Pediatrics, 108(3), 790-792。PMID 11533353,https://doi.org/10.1542/peds.108.3.790。
- 死亡数:「Thirty-four infant walker-related deaths were reported from 1973 through 1998.」
- 防不住:「The use of warning labels, public education, adult supervision during walker use, and stair gates have all been demonstrated to be insufficient strategies to prevent injuries associated with infant walkers.」
- 1997 年标准:「walkers manufactured after June 30, 1997, must be wider than a 36-in doorway or must have a braking mechanism designed to stop the walker if 1 or more wheels drop off the riding surface, such as at the top of a stairway.」
- 主张禁售:「because there is no clear benefit from their use, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a ban on the manufacture and sale of mobile infant walkers.」
- 替代:「Stationary activity centers should be promoted as a safer alternative to mobile infant walkers.」
- 学走路:「Walkers do not help a child learn to walk; indeed, they can delay normal motor and mental development.」
- 摘要里还有「In 1999, an estimated 8800 children younger than 15 months were treated in hospital emergency departments」,条目改用 Sims 2018 的 25 年总数,没写这一年的数。
HealthyChildren.org
- https://www.healthychildren.org/English/safety-prevention/at-home/Pages/baby-walkers-a-dangerous-choice.aspx,页面写「Last Updated 8/15/2022」。
- 大人在旁边:「Most walker injuries happen while adults are watching. Parents or caregivers simply cannot respond quickly enough. A child in a walker can move more than 3 feet in 1 second!」3 英尺约 0.91 米,条目写成「3 英尺(约 0.9 米)以上」,说人话写「0.9 米以上」。
- 不能学走路:「Many parents think walkers will help their children learn to walk. But they don't. In fact, walkers can actually delay when a child starts to walk.」
- 烫伤溺水:「It is now easier for a child to pull a tablecloth off a table and spill hot coffee, grab pot handles off the stove」;「Drown —child can fall into a pool or bathtub while in a walker.」
- 替代品三样:「Stationary activity centers —they look like walkers but have no wheels. They usually have seats that rotate, tip, and bounce. Play yards or playpens ... High chairs」。
- 别人家和托育机构:「be sure that there are no walkers wherever your child is being cared for, such as child care centers or in someone else's home.」
4. Garrett 2002 BMJ
Garrett M, McElroy AM, Staines A (2002). Locomotor milestones and babywalkers: cross sectional study. BMJ, 324(7352), 1494。PMID 12077035,PMC116446,https://doi.org/10.1136/bmj.324.7352.1494。
- 设计和人数:「We performed a cross sectional survey of normal healthy infants born at term attending day care centres」;「We excluded 17 premature infants leaving 190 valid responses」。
- 剂量关系:「each aggregated 24 hours of babywalker use was associated with a delay of 3.3 (95% confidence interval 2.5 to 4.1) days in walking alone」。
5. Burrows & Griffiths 2002 小综述
Burrows P, Griffiths P (2002). Do baby walkers delay onset of walking in young children? Br J Community Nurs, 7(11), 581-586。PMID 12447120,https://doi.org/10.12968/bjcn.2002.7.11.10889。
- 「Two RCTs and two cohort studies were identified」;「The results of the two RCTs did not demonstrate a significant effect on the onset of walking.」
- 「a pooled analysis of the four studies suggested a delay of between 11 and 26 days. Although the quality of the studies was relatively poor these studies lend no support to the argument that walkers aid the development of walking.」
- 另查到 Badihian 2017 系统综述(Iran J Child Neurol 11(4):1-6,PMID 29201117),结论是「Evidence against baby walker is not enough regarding its negative effect on child development」,和条目「这一半的证据不硬」一致,没进来源栏。
- 「April 7, 2004 ... Health Minister Pierre Pettigrew today announced the Government of Canada's immediate prohibition of the sale, advertisement and importation of baby walkers in Canada.」
- 「This prohibition also applies to the sale of baby walkers as second-hand items and so they may not be sold at flea markets or garage sales. Persons who already have baby walkers are advised to permanently dismantle and dispose of them.」
- 新闻稿里部长说「Canada is the first country in the world to ban the sale of these products」,条目没写「全世界第一个」,只写加拿大禁卖。
- 第 5 条:「No person shall manufacture, import, advertise or sell a consumer product listed in Schedule 2.」
- 附表 2 第 3 项:「Baby walkers that are mounted on wheels or on any other device permitting movement of the walker and that have an enclosed area supporting the baby in a sitting or standing position so that their feet touch the floor, thereby enabling the horizontal movement of the walker.」
